With Steve Armstrong – Driving Tuition
Friendly, Experienced, Approved Driving Instructor
Based in Hinckley, Leicestershire
Hello, I am Steve Armstrong-Smith, a DVSA Grade ‘A’ qualified ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) who is fully DBS (CRB) checked.
My lessons are conducted in a professional, friendly, relaxed manner with a little humour at times, as I find this helps the learning process.
My aim is to provide tuition that promotes ‘safe driving for life‘ and not to just pass a test. Driver training is available to all levels from beginner, partially trained to fully trained, including those requiring motorway tuition. You will have full use of a modern air conditioned vehicle that is fitted with dual controls for the duration of your training.
I am based in Hinckley and I cover the surrounding areas including Burbage, Barwell and Nuneaton. Prices start from £25 so if you are looking for lessons then please give me a call, you won’t be disappointed.
The test can last between 75 and 90 mins. At the end of it you are presented with your results.
Multiple choice questions with 4 to 6 options. 50 questions asked with 57 minutes available to answer. 43 correct answers are required to pass this section.
The Hazard Perception Test consists of 14 video clips lasting approximately 1 minute each. These clips will offer 15 developing hazards to recognise, one clip will have 2 hazards. There are a maximum of 5 marks per hazard, so 75 marks available in total. A minimum of 44 marks are required to pass this section.
On test day I will arrive to collect you an hour prior to your test time. After some driving and a little revision we will arrive on time, relaxed and ready for the test.
Normally you will take the test in my car- you are used to it and it passes the criteria for a qualified car.
Once you leave the test centre you will be required to pass an eyesight test. The examiner will ask you to read a car number plate from approximately 20 metres away. The test will not go ahead if you are unable to do this. You will then go to the car where you will be asked to answer 1 ‘Tell me’ question from a set of 14 that are available. During the actual test you will be asked to use 1 of 7 ancillary controls whilst driving the vehicle.
